South Dakota Company recognized for expansion, commitment to agriculture

SIOUX FALLS, SD – Agriculture United for South Dakota is pleased to recognize MDS Manufacturing, Inc. in Parkston for their service to South Dakota’s agricultural and swine industries as the company celebrate their expansion with an open house on September 8. The expansion will add more than 30,000 sq. feet to the current facility and will create more than 30 full-time positions at the company.

“We congratulate MDS Manufacturing on their expansion and ongoing commitment to providing innovative products for farmers and pork producers in South Dakota and across the United States,” said Steve Dick, Ag United Executive Director.

The MDS livestock division specializes in the swine industry, designing, fabricating and installing hog confinement equipment in a seven-state region across the Midwest.

“As the state’s swine industry continues to grow, we recognize MDS for their role in providing South Dakota pork producers with a local source for high-quality equipment for hog barns,” added Dick.

Founded in 1960 by Marlin Hohn as Jim’s Welding Service in Dimock, SD, the named was changed in 1976 to represent the partnership between Marlin Hohn and brothers Darrel and Steve Hohn. Today, brothers Steve, Brian and Brad Hohn are the second generation to operate the family business, located on Highway 37 in Parkston.

MDS manufactures a complete line of front-end loader products, and is nationally known for their Sur-Lock Quik-Tach system that attaches loader attachments automatically. The product line consists of a variety of high-quality loader attachments including pallet fork systems and hay and material handling attachments.

MDS Manufacturing will be celebrating the company’s expansion with an open house on Saturday, September 8 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Visitors are invited to enjoy lunch and tours of the facility. A short program will be held at 11:30 am.

MDS Manufacturing, Inc., is located at 1301 South Highway 37 in Parkston. For more information about MDS Manufacturing, visit www.mdsmfg.com.
