National Public Radio: On the Road

"All things Considered"

August 11, 2005

NPR's On the Road series traveled the United States to discover the country's relationship with the government. On of the stops was in South Dakota, where Ric Morren, a Lincoln County pork producer, and Ann Poppen, a 17 year old tour guide at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Homestead in De Smet discuss rural life in South Dakota.

Ric talks to NPR reporter Andrea Seabrook about livestock feeding in South Dakota, and Ann discusses the concerns of urban residents who don't fully understand modern agricultural practices.
